Buckle your seatbelts, this one was a wild ride. Every week when we peruse Reddit, we find entries on the Relationship Advice, and Am I The Asshole pages that just make us grateful for the lives we live. It's kind of like a sick sense of schadenfreude, but even more so we just like it when we see strangers coming together to give advice and lift each other up. That's what happened in this situation, where one older Redditor got some valuable advice, even though the problem in question had been brewing for a long, long time.

The OP is a grandmother in this case, who never really wanted to be a mother in the first place. That's red flag number one, but you'll see more on that later. Apparently, in giving her daughter's pets and equal amount of presents as her son's real children, this grandmother has offended some of her brood, and has her questioning whether she's been a good enough family member or not. What happened next was beyond Reddit's pay grade, but we're still so glad it happened. People started responding with this therapeutic, almost professional level advice breaking down what was creating these issues for this woman and her family. Not only that, people were responding with the intention of helping her, which just warmed our hearts. It sounds like this woman from the get-go has some serious issues in her personal life that she needs to work out. She's very fixated on the idea of not wanting a family, even though she already has adult children and grandchildren. Nothing is going to change with having a family now! Still, we can understand why maybe she's feeling a little antsy. We're not understanding where the problem is in this situation though?

Hmmm, we get where John is coming from, but at the same time, is he serious? This almost seems like the type of petty sibling stuff that he and Amber should've been doing as children. Now that they're adults, does he need to transfer his own traumas about his upbringing onto his own children? Somehow, these two images alone make us think that the whole family needs to head to therapy together.
